LACK OF SPLIT PAYMENTS AND TRAPHARENCY
For splitting the bill other apps are used, usually one person pays upfront which can be frustrating. Most of the time users can not control or see who paid. When planing or researching for an accommodation as a group on Airbnb, users communicate outside of app.
42% WANT BETTER WAYS TO SPLIT THE BILL ON GROUP STAYS
Uncovering users' payment difficulties inspired us to develop a sleek cost-splitting tool, specifically addressing the 42% who seek better payment solutions for group accommodations.
These findings inspired a deep dive into the challenges users face, leading to an affinity map that pinpointed the primary obstacle: cost-splitting.
NEW UI COMPONENTS
After the research and competitor analysis we started crafting ideas around cost splitting flow, starting ideation process and developed wireframes and started designing UI components for new feature
QUICK FIX, BIG IMPACT: KEEPING THE ORIGINAL FLOW
We aimed for a quick and low-effort solution. We did not change the original flow but added an option to split the payment within the existing process.
